Location

The Dingle Peninsula stretches westward for 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the low-lying countryside near Tralee. It’s the most northerly of the hilly promontories in County Kerry. Between Tralee and Inch run the Slieve Mish mountains; further west, in the centre of the peninsula, is a track of wild untamed Ireland; then north of Dingle town is the mighty rampart of Brandon and on its western side a coastal plain studded with typical Irish hamlets and villages.

This western end of the peninsula boasts magnificent coastal scenery, and is an Irish speaking district where the traditional Irish customs, crafts and lore are still very much alive.
Dingle is steeped in history and boasts one of the prettiest harbours in Europe. The narrow streets with brightly painted houses and colourful shop fronts attract visitors who wish to browse through the many craft shops and hostelries that are clustered around the town centre.

The area boasts many facilities for those who enjoy the outdoor life, with walking tours around Slea Head, the most Westerly point of Kerry. or Mount Brandon, offering breathtaking hill walks.
Dingle Harbour Lodge is the perfect base for anyone and we will be glad to help you make your trip an enjoyable one.
